Mud Treasure's 101
Mud Treasure's 101 - Got A Lot Of Minutes?
- I love life!
- I'm a Taurus.
- I'm a Breast Cancer Survivor. My cancer was Invasive Ductal Carcinoma the size of a softball. My Sentinel Lymph Node was the size of a quarter. After 4 mths of chemo, removal of my lymph nodes on the right side, a lumpectomy on the right side and 33 radiation treatments, I am CANCER FREE!
- I have 3 siblings. 2 brothers and 1 sister.
- I'm a country girl who lives in the city.
- I once attended the Albuquerque Balloon Festival and went up in a balloon as part of my attempt to conquer my fear of heights. It partially worked!
- I have 1 natural child.
- I have 2 step children that I raised with my 2nd husband from the ages of 4 and 7.
- I've been married twice.
- I'm single now, baby!
- I love people.
- I REALLY like good people
- I have the best friends of my life in my late 40's.
- I'm a many faceted individual. I even sparkle sometimes.

- I rock!

- I've traveled to California many times. LOVE IT!
- I used to travel for business and had the delightful opportunity to visit many different USA destinations.
- I love to take photographs.
- Nature is one of my passions.
- Pottery is another one of my passions.
- I made mud pies and grass salad as a little girl.
I did NOT eat them.
- I wanted to be a singer.
- I want to learn to play the guitar. This is kind of ironic since I started to learn, married the teacher and then actually taught classes. Still, I want to learn to play the guitar.
- My first kiss was when I was 12! That's right........I started young. I looked like I was in college, though. Before all you parents pass out, that was as far as it went. ONLY kissing!
- I looked and acted older for my age, as a young girl. I always hung out with people that were 5 to 10 years older than me.
- I am told I look younger than my age, as I get older. NICE!
- I am a good communicator. Kind of interesting since I have only 1 language.
- I've been to the Statue of Liberty. I made a call from there just to say I was there.
- I enjoy the ocean and beaches. I rate them way up there with food. I have to have a fix regularly or I just might shrivel up and die!

- I have 3 grandchildren.
- I don't care for politics.
- I'm not fond of watching the news. While I am fully aware of the horrors going on in the world, I don't feel it necessary to spend part of my precious time watching the media sensationalize those horrors. If you are part of the media...........deal with it.
- My father and brother are Baptist Ministers. I wasn't a wild "Preacher's Daughter". Could have been....but I wasn't.
- I was an Income Tax Preparer for about 15 years. I now have NO desire to get anywhere close to a tax return. I've moved on!
- I was once a hosiery inspector and packager. Piece work. Inspect and package them fast if you want to make any money, baby!
- My dream vacation is to go to Greece.
- I sang in a little country church beginning at a very young age and continuing until I moved away from home.
- I've been told I'm a cross between Mother Maybelle Carter, Barbara Streisand and Katherine Hepburn. Hmmmmmm....nice compliment. And......the makings for a real stubborn individual!
- I once had a talking parakeet. He lived for 1 year before my cat literally scared him to death. This is the one and only bird with which I had the pleasure to share my living space.
- I began growing herbs as a result of doing research on healthy things to do for my talking parakeet. I started with Parsley and it just grew from there. I loved that bird.
- I'm a HUGE fan of Folk, Mountain music sung in rich, clear voices of the pure at heart.
- One of my favorite movies is "The Song Catcher" which illustrates the aforementioned quite well.
- I collect sand. When anyone visits a beach (or any other sand bearing property) I ask that they return with a sand sample, a photo of them on the beach and a map of the spot. The only mandatory item is, of course, the sand. I support 2 other sand collectors so like to have enough to fill 3 spice bottles, at least. What can I say. I LOVE ROCKS!
- I was once the Benefits Administrator of a large corporation for several years.
- I have 1 God Daughter.
- I love cats but don't currently have any. My dog won't let me.
- My village sustains me. They breathe life right in to me every day. I'm just one of those people who needs people.
- I dislike doing floors and windows. It's always been so.
- I have a little training in Art Quilting. It's a shame that I haven't made something with that $100 worth of Batik fabric I purchased during that class session.
- I'm a great shopper when I'm passionate about something.
- For several years, I designed beaded jewelry. Arthritis in my hands took it from me. Making pottery gave it back to me. I just don't sit for hours beading any more. Everything in moderation. :)
- I'm currently contemplating taking Belly Dancing classes. We ALL plan for me to lose 20 lbs. before I subject any of you to THOSE photos! LOL
- I was 1st chair clarinet in 7th grade band. I played Bass Clarinet. I never wanted to play the clarinet. We, however, were able to rent the instrument from the school for $6 per year. Bass Clarinet, it was. I quit the band at the end of the 7th grade. I felt completely unchallenged by the clarinet.
- I wanted to play flute or bells (percussion) and never did.
- I worked for a family income tax preparation business for many years. I left to take about 18 months off work before pursuing another career. It was kind of a long vacation. I had never taken one previously.
- I learned to play Wallyball during the 18 months. I was off work. I was in the best physical shape of my life. Loved it!
- I took a leave of absence from work one time to do Extra's Casting on a movie being made locally. It was my first and last such adventure. Loved it!
- I was about 8 months old when I nearly died. I became ill and was very dehydrated. I was hospitalized and pulled through the illness, ultimately.
- I suffered from motion sickness so severely, as a child, that my school bus had a bucket especially for me. I used the bucket EVERY day. A family friend's son who was in 5th grade was asked to sit next to me and watch for when it was bucket time. I had a crush on him forever! Isn't that a romantic little story? Eeeeeeew!
- I first wore eyeglasses in 5th grade. I was nearsighted.
- I gave up my natural eye lenses at age 46 when we did cataract surgery in both eyes to replace the clouded lenses. I am a bionic woman now and I can see!
- I've always loved the color of my eyes. They are emerald green.
- I don't have a favorite color. I like them all.....some more than others. I really love peaches and greens. I believe yellow is the happiest color and the color I associate most closely with my father.
- My father called me his little yella-headed girl, when I was young.
- I had curly hair before chemo. Now I have REALLY curly hair.
- I value those who build things and don't tear things down. If you are someone who tears things down, I'm likely to tell you I don't appreciate this trait. I'll find a constructive way to say it, but I'll tell you.
- I am one of the most honest people I know. I surround myself with other honest people.
- I'm a big believer in the health benefits of human touch. I have a massage almost every week and feel certain this practice is one of the reasons for my big success in cancer recovery.
- The happiest times of my life have been the past few years following my divorce and re-discovery of self.
- I was hairless once. I hope NEVER to be hairless again.
- I love to dance.
- If I repeat something on this list, I'll either fix it later OR you can assume I did it twice!
- One of my favorite scents and tastes is vanilla.
- I'm a natural woman.
- I never expected to be watching for the love of my life in my late 40's.
- I love wind chimes. They compliment the wind. Not that the wind needs complimenting, mind you.
- I enjoy our differences. Our differences work together, if we let them.
- I do not blame others for the events of my life. I take full responsibility for my life and it's twists and turns. I delight in it's lessons and move forward with that wisdom.
- My father was near fatally injured when I was 16 mths. old while working at an aircraft company. That changed the course of our lives forever. The example set before me has always been that of survival. I credit this, in a large part, for my ability to survive the challenges in life.
- I don't have tattoos.
- I have an olive complexion and tan easily.
- I love natural gemstones. I prefer a rough cut emerald, for instance, to a highly faceted perfect one.
- Shrimp is one of my favorite foods.
- I love avacadoes. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!
- I prefer dark chocolate to any other kind.
- I Love bubbles and balloons. They are happy things!
- I'm a cultivator of self. I enjoy growing.
- Raku is one of my favorite pottery firing techniques.
- I wake up a little comatose until I've had coffee. I'm cute, though!

- I was part of a crew in a yacht race once. It was kind of pitiful. I'd never before even been on a sail boat. I enjoyed it anyway!
- I love textures. I'm a real touchy, feely kinda girl.
- I love candles. I love hundreds of them lit up all over the place. Unscented ones with a vanilla candle thrown in here and there.
- I like being an older woman and having more knowledge than a 20 year old. Feels pretty good, actually. Some of the 20 years olds even notice and ask my thoughts. Wow!
- I've always wanted to visit Wyoming. I used to want to visit Cheyenne because I like the name. Now, I just want to load up myself and my camera and hit the mountains.
- One of my best friends is a 27 year old man. Some folks DO have a good amount of wisdom in their 20's. I cherish this friendship.
- I never colored or highlighted my hair until I was about 45 years old. I always wanted to, just never did it. I LOVE a nice highlight!
- I broke my tail bone on a super slide when I was about 12 years old. What do you do with a piece of information like that? I just don't know.
- I don't do carnival rides. It's the motion sickness. Just no fun.
- As a child, I managed to get my hand or arm in the car door and slammed in there quite often. I was a very fiesty child and it was hard for my folks to keep my hands out of the doors. OUCH!
- I was the teacher's pet, particularly in 4th grade. I was always finished with my work before everyone else and assisted the teacher with grading papers, etc.
- I was a rural, hippie sort of girl in the 70's with the long straight hair, moccasins and jeans with the fabric sewn in the lower legs to make the bell larger. I rocked!
